Spring Mantel
Mother Nature really can't make up her mind lately, can she?
She reaaallly wants to hold onto winter but is teasing us with spring-like temps for a day or so before dipping right back down. I might just break out the flip flops tomorrow in protest.
Let me tell you, every ounce of winter is GONE from my house. My Spring Mantel is up in hopes that the weather will start to warm up and STAY warm. Here is what I came up with this year. For me, Spring is all about light, pastel colors so that is what I focused on with a few bold colors mixed in.
I'm a bit obsessed with the current trend of chalkboard art. Last month, I posted some tips on how to create it. This month, I created a simple chalkboard for Spring. The font I used is called "Sail". Another one of my obsessions is blue mason jars. I use them a lot in my Spring and Summer decorating. Add a few yellow flowers and you have an instant Spring accent piece.
The green pennant banner is a project that I made for my mantel last year.
My daughter really loves art and loves to paint these little birdhouses. I decided to showcase some of them on the mantel this season. She was very excited to be able to put her creations into my design. I think they work well with the theme. Aren't they so cute?
I bought this chunky letter from Marshall's and added some washi tape to dress it up.
This just may be one of my favorite mantels to date.
